Category: A10 — AMMULU STORIES AND OTHER FUN FOUNTAINS

  • Fut goes your vow

”just now, I took a vow not to tell a single lie to you, Ammalu”
” Why to me alone. You should never lie to anyone in the world’
”’ But you are my world, Ammalu!”
”Fut goes  your vow-  within 40 seconds!”
  • Nothing to be taken seriously

”When will you take life seriously?”
    ”Means?”
”Rise, eat and sleep in time, dress tastefully, talk more sensibly, be helpful to your your wife and children etc etc”
    ”Then what happens ?”
”Then, my friends like Ammini well praise you”
” Ammalu, Nair is doing everything you mentioned, but Ammini says that her husband is good -for- nothing . She, in fact, praises me. You know why?”” Because, you are not her husband””Then why are you are doing this dharmopadesam to me?”
    ”Because, you are my husband”
”The world is as simple as that. Nothing to be taken seriously”
    ”Why you are laughing, Ammalu?”
” Wondering why I took my father’s advice seriously, when he wanted me to marry you.”
  • For an hour, just for an hour

”For an hour, just for an hour , keep the negative thoughts away from your mind and see how your face shines.”
” How do you know whether negative or positive thoughts are passing through my mind, whether my face waxes or wanes? You are not always sitting before me staring at my face.”
”I can watch your face from far and near, from the kitchen or children’s school, even from my mother’s house. No need to put a chair and sit before you”
”Are you a magician or some divine soul with ability to see things beyond the curtain, Ammalu?”
    ”I am a wife”
” That means you are just a human like you. Then, how is it that I am not able to read your mind even while sitting before you ?. I see many other faces but not yours when I sit face to face with you”
” Because, you are a husband. No surprise. And be cautious, even from the sky, I will be watching you”
”OMG, don’t go to the sky and spy from that high, Ammalu. A known woman is less fearsome than and unknown danger, away in the sky”

  • An out-dated doubt

” I’m daunted by a damn doubt, Ammalu”

” Say, ‘a new doubt”. Is it about the possible permutation and combination of the political parties in the next election?”
”No such silly things. My doubt is about the gold chain of  mango-design, your father’s  wedding gift.
Is it really of 22 carat gold ? ”
”Date-expired doubt. Yes, there is date expiry for everything.  Anyway, for your information, it was 24 carrot when gifted, but now it doesn’t contain even a gram of gold.”.
”Hei, that is not acceptable, Ammalu. your people never told me about the possible degradation of the ornament”
”Look at the mirror. Were you like this when I agreed to marry you? Did your people tell us at that time , that you would become like this.?’
” You mean to say that I have lost my luster? ”
”What is your own opinion ?”
”I am as lustrous now as I was on our wedding day. Gold and God never lose their luster, my mistress. And for the Hindu wives, husband is the God.”
”Glad that your doubt is cleared.”
  • Wrong place for the right thoughts

” Aren’t you talking almost  non-stop, since we came here ?”
”Ammlu, unlike you, I have a lot of wisdom to be conveyed conveyed to the lay men”
”Accepted, but not at this place. This is a clinic where people, like you, have come to get their ears tested or to buy hearing aids”

    ———————————————————————————–

“Every one talks high about me, except you Ammalu”
“Haven’t  I paid my highest tribute to you, long ago, when I agreed for our marriage?”

—————————————————————————————-

‘Ammalu, that woman walking along with that man is his wife or mother?”

“Is  she your wife or mother?”
“No way”
”Then, why are you concerned? Keep walking”
——————————————————————————————–
“Ammalu, this is between us; the old lady in our side portion, is pregnant”
“It is not between us; it is between she and her husband. Anyway, as you are curious, she is not old and she is not pregnant.

  • Why should she go?

” If  the world has room for only smart and intelligent people where will you go, Ammalu?”
” Why should  I go at all, when I have my own companion of my own grade in my own house?”
  • Lucky is the one who owns

“I met an old man whose first son is in America, owning two cars and two bungalows, but on loan, the second son in London owning four bungalows and two cars , also on loan.”

”Lucky sons. What is the old man doing ?”
    ”He drives an autoriksha.”
    ”Oh, how sad, Ammalu”
” What is there to feel sorry about him? His three-wheeler is his own, his hut is his own and his woman is his own”
    —————————————————————————————————————
“Ammalu, I will give you ten tips for good night’s sleep ”
”I will give you just one tip: close your eyes and don’t move your limbs till you sleep”

  • The problem of having more houses

    • ” I am really worried, Ammalu. I don’t know what to do”
“Did you lose your wallet in the bus again?”
“No. The Saturn has entered my 8th house–”
”The Jupiter the 9th, the Venus the 7th, right?”
” Yes, yes. But who told you ?”
” Every one around here. The servant maid says that you have been asking this question every day as soon as she enters and again before she leaves. She wants us to employ her in the other houses too. The vegetable vendor asks, how many houses we own. The day the income tax people ask that question is not far, I am worried.”

    love and regards,
    sperinkulam

  • Ammalu on the Atlantic ocean beach

“You brought me all the way to see this sinful shows by shameless women, exposing every thing and rolling on the beach sand?”
“Adjust your spectacles and see Ammalu. If you see carefully you will find that ‘everything’ is not exposed. Strips of white clothes conceal them from your eyes.”
” You will see them because you look for them and you look for them carefully . You are the shameless.”
“Ammalu, I see before me only the majestic Atlantic ocean ; neither the men or the women naked or fully attired. I see before me the sea like a powerful monster, rushing towards the shore and receding after making it aware of its unconquerable might.”
” I see the sea as a mother rushing towards her child, in a great hurry , kissing its cheeks and going back as if pulled by someone from behind”
“I see the sea as a lover rushing towards his sweet heart, with uncontrollable love, kissing on every inch of his body and hugging him and reluctantly withdrawing as the time allowed for the meeting was over.”
” You are going too far. The time allotted for your roaming on the sea beach  is over. Let us go back”
”So, you don’t see the semi naked women on the beach now,  Ammalu ?”
”No, I watch now only you and see now only the angles where your eyes are turning to. This is not a place for the husbands to roam about”
“Along with their wives you mean?”
“You want to ask more questions and stay for more time here?”
“Ammalu, America is not a tropical country like ours. The men and women from the sun-starved places come here to absorb the healthy sun rays, enjoy the sea breeze and sun set . Sun is precious for them .  Don’t we,  in our country, walk across the streets, with no shirts on, in the summer months?”
    ” I see your point.  I’m inspired. Get me a beach-suit please?”
” I am sorry, Ammalu. Your time for the sight seeing is over. Let us get back. Cold breeze is blowing and  I don’t want you to catch a bad cold and suffer.”
  • Ammalu series, updated frequently

“What is your opinion about our new servant maid ?”

” She joined us hardly a month ago. Too early to comment”

” I joined you long long ago. What is your opinion about me, Ammalu?”

    ” Too late to comment”

    ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
”who is that good looking woman going behind our new neighbor?”

    ”Can’t be his wife”

    ”How “

‘Which good looking woman, other than me, walks behind her husband, in this town?”

” Wah, You are rocking, Ammalu”

    ————————————————————————————————-

“Ammalu, I want to confess a sin committed”

”I am the wrong person . Visit the church next door and speak to the Pathiri.”

‘”It is  to be confessed to you and you alone”

”Did you speak some nonsense to your ex colleague Ammini?”

‘Never in my life, have I spoken a word to Ammini” .

“Oh, this lie I can’t handle. You need a pathiry’s help only”

    ————————————————————————————————————————–

Ammalu, did  you see my comb. It is not there on the bathroom table”

”Where do you usually keep your comb.?”

    ”In the dressing table drawer”

” Then, why did you go to bathroom in search of it?”

”Because, things in this house don’t stay in their place . They keep walking on their legs.”

” They do, I agree . But they come back to the original place sooner or later. I just saw your comb  returning,  after finishing its job in the bath room”

    —————————————————————————————————————————————————–

‘Ammalu, God always lives in the heart of good people. I can hear His heartbeat within me. How will you understand all these complicated issues ?”

”Complication, where? you are a good man, God lives in your heart, you hear His heartbeats . So simple and straight forward.”

” I thought you would bombard me with questions. “

    ”Such as?”

“How did God enter inside your heart, if the heartbeats you hear are God’s, what happened to your own heart beats etc’”

” Only if I doubt what you said then those questions arise, right?”

”OMG, that statement of yours puts me into difficulty. I have now started worrying what happened to my own heartbeats.”

    ————————————————————————————————-

“What happened to all my coaching on Advaitham, Dwaitham and Visishtadwaitham, Ammlu?”

” They all have come back to you with added merit. I have been adding them every day in the sambar, rasam and other dishes I have been serving you “.
    ————————————————————————————————–
” I have decided to help you right from today, in your kitchen work. How do I do that, Ammalu?””By keeping away from the kitchen till the food is ready”
    ———————————————————————————-
“Any woman would like to have a few minutes for her own purpose, to sit in a corner, muse on her childhood, her parents, play mates, siblings etc. After finishing all my work, feeding you and children, cleaning the kitchen, When I try to steal an hour for me, you yell,’ Ammalu, kaappy’”

.”You forget that I too have my own childhood and playmates to muse upon and it is to ignite those thoughts, I ask for kappy. Is there a better stimulant than kaappi ?”

“Can’t you prepare one cup just for your own need ?”
“I can make hundred cups but it won’t be as  tasty and stimulating as your make”
“Wrong age for you to look for stimulants. Is is OK. I will make your happy just  for taste. “
“Yes, Ammalu, just for taste “
    ————————————————————————————————

    “Ammalu, happy valentine’s day”

“I know only Sunday to Saturday. What is this new day? “

“Valentine’s day is a special day for a man and woman to express their love for each other.”

‘Love is not to be expressed but to be experienced. Love loses its charm when expressed.”

“But how will the other know if love is not expressed ?

“If the other knows only through expressions, he or she is not worth to be loved”.
“Ammalu, even animals express their love through their body language”

“Body language yes, but not through mouth”.

    ”Your ideas are antique, Ammalu”.

“Love is antique, but ever fresh”
    ————————————————————————————————–

“Patti, respecting your age and good deeds, I have already allowed you ten minutes extension and if you don’t follow me instantly, I will throw my rope around your neck and pull you here.” The lord of death issued the final warning.

“Another 5 minutes, please ” the good old lady pleaded, “let me complete the task on hand”

“What noble cause this worthy woman is anxious to complete !” wondered Dharma and unable to contain his anxiety, peered through the window.

Patti, the good grand ma, was polishing her nails !

“At 95, this woman sits on the floor, stretching her limbs, bends her body and prunes and polishes her nail !”. He could not contain his surprise.

Yes, you guessed right. He gave her 20 minutes.

If you too could do, at 60,  what the old woman did at 95, I am sure that you will go far  beyond 100.
    ————————————————————————————————–

”If your false pride makes you believe that you are the only woman working hard, I have nothing to say, Ammalu”

”You have already said what you wanted to say”
    ————————————————————————————————–

“I love you, Ammalu””That is a stupid statement. If I have to know about your love only through a stamp paper affidavit from you. your love is worth only the value of that paper.
I should feel your love even while you are away, even in my dream, even in my thoughts. The rest is only a publicity stunt”
    ————————————————————————————————-

”I know every face in this women’s group except one”

“Don’t quit that easily; it could be your wife’s”

    ———————————————————————————————
” Bharyaa roopavathi satru’ – lovely wife is one’s  enemy’,  is a wise saying, Ammalu”
” I know that. I also know what you are going to say next . ” I don’t want to have an enemy in my house and that is why I married you’ right?”

    ” Not exactly, but ….”

“I also know the next line of the wise-saying- ‘putra satru apandithah :’ unscholarly son is one’s enemy – Your scholarly father didn’t want to have an enemy in his house and that is why he packed you off with me”

    “Not exactly, but—–“

” you have said it, my lovely, scholarly husband; not once but twice”
    —————————————————————————————

“Ammalu, I am standing for election as an independent candidate. Go and tell every friend of yous that I am a honest man “

“You are a honest man. Anyway, give me Ra. 50,000 for canvassing “

“Rs. 50 thousand just to go round and tell your friends ? That is looting “

“OK. Don,t give a pie. I will give five Rupees to our servant maid and ask her to tell every one that you are NOT a honest man”

“OMG, Ammalu, you stand for election. You are more honest than me and better  suited for a political post “
    —————————————————————————

“Where is that guy who used to stand on the bench and give orders, in our class?”

“‘He is sitting in the Supreme Court bench now”
    ————————————————————————————–
    ” I’m a good man”

    “How you say?”

    “Because everyone says so”

    ‘Who is that every one?”

    ‘My wife”

” But, I can confidently tell you that you aren’t a good man”

    “How you say ?”

” Because everyone says so “

    ‘who is that every one?”

    ‘My wife “
